Working Women Giving Advice to Their Younger Selves Is the Best Thread on Twitter Right Now

No matter where you are on the career ladder, or how you got there, we bet there are things you wish knew when you first started out. Hindsight is always 20/20, as they say.

Amy Riveter, founder of The Riveter, a female-centric co-working startup, and mom of four, asked working women on Twitter what advice they would give their younger selves. The thread went viral—and rightfully so. If we didn’t have the advice when we needed it, at least other women do now.

The thread of pitch-perfect wisdom is making us reminisce about when we began our careers, though so much of it is still useful now.

Wow. My entry-level self needed to hear this.

THIS.

This mom hit the nail on the head.

Wow.

Simple, but so true.

APPLY. ANYWAY.

The only validation you need.

Pssssst, your boss won’t be your boss for life.

Most of the time, emails can wait.

Find time for yourself. You deserve it.

Surround yourself with those who uplift you.

Invest in your network.

There’s so much we wish we could’ve known. Alas, at least we have social media, so we can inspire younger women to take the chance, invest in themselves and take a damn breath.
