Multiple fires are currently raging in California, creating dangerous conditions that are forcing people out of their homes.
One of those people is Sarah Michelle Gellar, who revealed on Instagram that she was evacuated from her Los Angeles home on October 28 at 3 a.m. with just the clothes on her back and her family.
We can only imagine how terrifying it must be to face the possibility of losing a home. But for Sarah, there was a positive that came out of the experience. The actress ran into a friend, former Cruel Intentions co-star and fellow working mom Selma Blair, at a hotel. Seeing the familiar face called Sarah’s attention to the important things in life.
“I’m definitely scared and emotional, but then I get a surprise of @selmablair and now I can’t stop smiling,” she wrote. “These moments remind me to be grateful for all the blessings I have, and Selma you are certainly one of them.” The actress also thanked the Los Angeles fire department.
Sarah’s love for Selma is definitely reciprocated, as Selma posted the same pic to her Instagram, with a sweet caption describing Sarah: “#womancrushwednesday forever. 💕💕 #sarahmichellegellar 💕💕 #bff always there when I most need her.”
And in true BFF fashion, Sarah responded with an “I love you” and joked, “But next time I evacuate, I’m grabbing makeup (haha pls may this never happen again 🙏 and pls know I’m joking).”
On Instagram, many users were relieved to know the two were safe and that they had maintained their friendship all these years. “Omg @sarahmgellar, I am sending the best of vibes your way and hoping for as good of outcomes as can be. So sweet you have friends like @selmablair to help you through these times!!!” wrote one user. And a commenter on Selma’s Instagram wrote, “Two of my favorite people ever! It warms my heart to see your wonderful friendship with @sarahmgellar continue to flourish. She seems to be such a great pillar of love and support for you. What a blessing. Love to you both. ♥️”
Our hearts go out to all those affected by the California fires.
