These parents might have come up with the most genius discipline method ever. When their teen daughter was caught sneaking boys into a sleepover, they gave her two options: either they take away her phone for a month, or take it away for two weeks but let them take over her social media accounts completely. She quickly regretted choosing the latter.
Tawnya Ford and Larry Sumpter’s 15-year-old daughter, Madelynn, probably wasn’t expecting her parents’ posts on her social media accounts to go viral, but they did. Since beginning the takeover of her Instagram, Snapchat and TikTok pages on Nov. 11, the accounts have gained thousands of followers and views.
The parents of six also share the TikTok videos to Larry’s Facebook page.
Larry has posted a handful of selfies on Madelynn’s Instagram account, of course. In this one, he appears to be channeling Kim Kardashian. And we are here for it.
Madelynn doesn’t seem all too fond of her parents’ fun, but they’re enjoying themselves.
“After the first day, Madelynn was like, ‘I changed my mind, I choose the one month,’” Tawnya told TODAY Parents. “Larry told her, ‘No. I’m too invested. I have too many ideas. We’re sticking with the two weeks.’ He’s loving it. I think he’s gonna make his own TikTok account when this is over.”
Larry’s most viewed video is of him and his son-in-law in daisy dukes and crop tops, singing a country song on his daughter’s TikTok account, with the username skinnybiotch1235. He’s captioned the video with the hashtags “#ParentingWin” and “#MakeBetterChoices.” We can’t wait to see what they create throughout the rest of the takeover.
