If you cannot love your partner the way they are, let them go

I love this excerpt from Don Miguel Ruiz book: The Mastery of Love

“Once you accept yourself just the way YOU are, the next step is to accept
your partner. If you decide to be with a person, don’t try to change anything about her, let her be who she is; she has a right TO BE FREE.

When you inhibit your partners freedom, you inhibit your own because you have to be there to see what your partner is doing or not doing. And if you LOVE YOUR-self so much, you are never going to give up your personal FREEDOM.

Be your-self. Find a person who matches with YOU. Take the RISK, but BE HONEST. If it works KEEP going. If it DOESN’T work, then do your-self and your partner a favour; WALK AWAY, Let him/her go, don’t be selfish. Give your partner the opportunity to find what they really want and at the same time give your-self the opportunity. If it’s NOT going to work, it’s better to LOOK in a DIFFERENT direction.

IF YOU CANNOT LOVE YOUR PARTNER THE WAY SHE IS, somebody else can LOVE her just as she / he is.

Don’t waste your time and don’t Waste your partner’s time. This is RESPECT.

Just embracing and implementing these words will change all your relationships. Conscious relationships built on real love need to be learned, not because I say so, but because to have a true loving experience you have to love yourself and not need another to fulfil you. It’s common sense when you break it down.

Create the life you want to live
Treat others the way you want to be treated
Simplicity is Divinity
