While picture day is a burden on most working parents—who can actually remember to make sure their kid looks decent enough?—some parents choose to see the silver lining. And the results can be hilarious.
It was the end of September and 9 year-old Jake Arsenault didn’t know what to wear for his fourth grade picture day. His mom, Kari, jokingly suggested he wear his Halloween costume: a hot dog suit. Jake wasn’t sold on the idea, but when his dad, Craig, encouraged him, promising him $10 if he wore it, the boy was convinced.
“My wife and I dared our son to wear a hotdog costume for school pictures. The school let him do it, and I couldn’t be happier.” Craig wrote on the Facebook post.
Not only is the picture hysterical and legendary, but it’s a testament to how awesome his parents are. They didn’t want to stand in Jake’s way if he actually wanted to wear it, they told USA Today. They even wrote a note to the school asking for permission. Now that’s what we call supportive.
Craig’s post currently has over 7,400 reactions and 5,600 comments. If they didn’t get at least one shot to send grandma, at least they have a great story and the holy grail of Halloween costumes—one that gets worn multiple times!
