In the wake of the coronavirus outbreak, schools have closed, forcing many moms and dads to become reluctant homeschoolers. To get through this difficult time, parents have one another for support and encouragement. But as Candice Hunter Kennedy’s now-viral Facebook post proves, kids are the best source for honest feedback.
Candice has three kids, including an 8-year-old son named Ben. On their first day homeschooling, she had him write a journal entry. He took the assignment as an opportunity to be very blunt about his mom’s performance.
“It is not going good. My mom’s getting stressed out. My mom is getting really confused. We took a break so my mom can figure this stuff out. And I’m telling you it is not going good,” he wrote.
Emphasis on the “it’s not going good.”
Candice had a sense of humor about the whole thing. In her caption, she wrote that she was “dying!!!” after she read the entry.
Currently, her post has 300k shares. In the comments, several tagged others suggesting they get their kids to fill out journals too. Many felt that the journal entry could’ve been penned by their own kids.
One also thanked Candice for sharing the pic, writing, “In a society where so many post their best moments and the awesome dinners they create, it helps everyone walk this life a little better when someone else says, ‘I’m a mess… How about you?’ Kudos to you, mom! You’ve got this!!!”
In her hashtag, Candice assured people, “#imgettingthehangofitnow.” We wish you the best of luck!
